Cookies
The one cookie this site uses, and what it keeps in your browser instead.
This site doesn’t use cookies to track you, measure you or show you adverts. There’s no analytics and no advertising, so there’s no cookie banner either.
The one cookie
| Cookie | Who gets it | What it’s for | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
Session cookie (its name starts with SESS or SSESS) |
The site owner, when logged in to edit the site | Keeps the owner logged in | Until the owner logs out or the session ends |
| The same session cookie | Anyone who sends the contact form | Carries the “message sent” confirmation to the next page | One page view: it’s removed once the confirmation is shown |
A visitor only gets this cookie by sending the contact form. The site sets it when you send the form, so that the page you land on next can say your message was sent. The site removes it as soon as that confirmation is shown.
Either way, the cookie is strictly necessary for something you asked for, so it doesn’t need consent under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations.
Cloudflare, which protects the site, may set a strictly necessary security cookie of its own if it needs to check that a visitor isn’t an automated bot. It’s used only for that check. Cloudflare’s cookie policy lists the cookies it can set.
The contact page also runs Cloudflare Turnstile, the form’s spam check, in a frame served by Cloudflare. Cloudflare says the information Turnstile collects is strictly necessary to detect and block bots, and points to its cookie policy for any cookies it uses. The privacy notice says more.
Your light or dark choice
If you pick light or dark mode, the site remembers your choice in your browser’s local storage. That isn’t a cookie: it stays in your browser, it’s never sent to the site, and it holds only the word for the theme you chose. To clear it, clear this site’s data in your browser’s settings.
Changes
If the site ever needs another cookie, this page will say so before it’s added.
